Margarita — my village

My village sits on a hillside in northern Greece, looking out across the plain towards the mountains.

This is cherry country. The slopes around the village are cherry orchards, and for a few weeks every spring the whole hillside turns white with blossom before the fruit sets. Cherries are what the village grows, and what its year is organised around.
